Candy Rush
Sweep a candy cart left and right through accelerating sugar lanes, chaining pickups before the belt outruns you.
Follow a winding gummy trail through open space while your own path becomes the hazard.
Steer with the arrow keys or WASD, or by dragging on a touch screen - your character turns toward the direction you indicate rather than snapping to it, so wide turns are easier than sharp ones. You move at a constant speed and cannot stop. Touching your own trail or the field boundary ends the run.
| Action | Controls |
|---|---|
| Move in any direction | Arrow keys or WASD, or drag anywhere on screen |
| Pause or resume | P or Esc, or the Pause button |
| Restart | R, or the Restart button |
| Mute or unmute | M, or the Sound button |
Gummies are collected on contact and each one adds three segments to your trail. The guiding route winds through the field in long smooth curves suited to your turn radius. Candy drops appear off the route as optional detours and add no trail length, so they are pure profit. Sugar crystals appear inside the tightest loops of your own trail, which is the game's most direct risk-reward decision.
Your own trail is the primary obstacle and the only one that grows. The field boundary is solid. Occasionally a bitter drop drifts through the field; touching one does not end the run but instantly adds ten segments to your trail, which is often worse. There are no other hazards.
Advertising keeps Candy Arcade free. Ads never cover gameplay or controls.
Trail Trim removes half your trail length instantly and is the most valuable pickup in the game. Sugar Speed Boost increases speed without increasing turn rate, which tightens your effective turn radius and is genuinely risky here. Shield allows one trail contact without ending the run.
Gummies are worth fifteen points, candy drops five and sugar crystals sixty. Every ten segments of trail length reached awards a length bonus of fifty points, so a long trail is scored as an achievement even though it is also the thing most likely to end the run.
Collecting gummies along the guiding route in order builds a route combo, one tier per five in-order gummies to a maximum of four times. Collecting an off-route candy drop does not break it, but skipping ahead on the route does. The rule pushes you to follow the intended curve rather than cut across the field.
Gummy Trail is rated Medium relative to the rest of the Candy Arcade library. Difficulty on this site comes from level design, hazard density and timing windows rather than from degrading your controls, and the rating describes how demanding the execution is rather than how complicated the rules are.
The mechanics involved are: Growing trail, Self-collision, Open field movement, Guided route, Length management. If this game is too demanding, the candy rush games category page lists the easier games that use overlapping skills.
Touching your own trail or the field boundary. Bitter drops do not end the run but add ten trail segments instantly.
No. It only shortens if you collect a Trail Trim pickup, which halves the length immediately.
It is generated to be survivable at your current trail length. Cutting corners off the route is what makes it unsafe.
Three segments per gummy. Candy drops add none, which is why they are worth the detour.
It shares the growing-tail idea, which is a decades-old mechanic in the public domain, but the free-angle movement, guiding route, combo rules and all artwork are original to Candy Arcade.
